GEORGE CAIRD - Chair

George Caird is an oboist and teacher who has worked as an orchestral player and chamber musician for many years. He was Head of Woodwind and Orchestral Studies at the Royal Academy of Music (1987-1993), Principal of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (1993-2010) and Artistic Director of Classical Music at Codarts, Rotterdam (2011-2016). Since 2016, George has also held interim Principalships at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
