Founded in 1738, The Royal Society of Musicians is the UK's oldest music charity. Our purpose is to relieve poverty and sickness among music professionals and their dependants.

This Strategic Plan sets out our direction for 2026-31. It is built around a clear ambition to help more music professionals, extend our reach across the profession, and strengthen the Society for the future.

The plan marks a deliberate move towards measurable growth, stronger partnerships and long-term financial sustainability, while remaining rooted in the compassion and fellowship that have defined the Society for nearly three centuries.
