Although stress and burnout are slightly different, chronic stress can lead to burnout, a feeling of being overwhelmed and exhausted. This webinar, facilitated by a registered person centered, humanistic psychotherapist will look at how musicians can identify burnout and learn tools to help prevent it.

Automatic negative thoughts can become such a habit for musicians, they stop noticing they even have them. This session looks at how to recognise those thoughts and how to challenge them to encourage greater self-compassion, including how to safely and effectively regulate emotions.

RSM and BAPAM Present: Vocal Overload and the Workplace
When a singer finishes a concert or gig, they may find themselves in a room with a lot of background noise, having to raise their voice to be heard. This session will help singers look after their voices to prevent injury and explore what work places can do to help singers avoid vocal overload.

RSM and BAPAM Present: Gut Biome, Nutrition and Mental Health
There is a growing body of research linking the gut microbiome to our mental health. Dietitian for musicians, Sally Freeman, will be joining us to talk about what good nutrition looks like, how musicians can incorporate good nutrition into their busy work schedules and how the microbiome can positively or negatively impact mental health.

While some singers with hypermobility may find that their range is extended, being hypermobile can put singers and voice users at risk of strain, injury and pain. This session will explore how voice users can understand hypermobility and it’s effects on the voice and how to understand when help or guidance should be sought.

From a young age musicians are training to be performers with regular feedback from those closest to them. This can be internalised and can lead to low self-esteem and self-doubting behaviour.

Performance anxiety or stage fright is incredibly common amongst performers. It can differ in intensity depending on many factors. This session will look at the different ways performance anxiety can show up in different people and what the contributing factors might be.
