Join us for a special visit to the Foundling Museum, including a guided introduction to the museum’s remarkable history and collections, followed by a more in-depth exploration of the music gallery.
The tour will be led by Colin Colman, archivist at the Royal Society of Musicians and librarian at the Foundling Museum, who will offer unique insight into the shared history of these two important institutions. Founded within a decade of one another, both the Foundling Hospital and the Royal Society of Musicians were closely connected to Handel, whose philanthropy and musical legacy played a significant role in supporting each organisation in its early years.
The visit will also include behind-the-scenes access to the reading room, where attendees will have the opportunity to view a selection of rare treasures and archival material connected to Handel, music history, and the Foundling Hospital.
Following the guided session, you will be welcome to continue exploring the museum independently at your own pace.
Please note that places are limited in order to ensure a comfortable and engaging experience for all attendees.
Tickets are £10 per person, which helps cover the Society’s costs in organising the visit.
