JACOBA GALE - Joint Vice-Chair
Jacoba was a pupil at The Yehudi Menuhin School for nine years. As a teenager, she was an enthusiastic member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain which introduced her to the symphonic repertoire. She won an Associated Board Scholarship to study with Frederick Riddle at The Royal College of Music and aged 19, she was appointed Principal Viola no.3 to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. She has recently retired after more than 44 years of service, achieving longest serving member ever! For the last five years she has Chaired the BSO Benevolent Fund. In her spare time Jacoba enjoys Wildlife photography, Dressmaking and Tailoring, Family History and is an experienced Chocolatier.
