Playing a leading role in the care and wellbeing of musicians throughout the UK

The Royal Society of Musicians is Britain’s oldest music charity and our work remains as relevant today as it was in its earliest years in the 18th Century – to provide financial assistance, advice, and guidance to those professionally active in or retired from the world of music but who are unable to work due to accident, illness, stress or anxiety.

RSM is a membership organisation comprising more than 2,000 Members from across the professional music sector. Some of our earliest Members included Thomas Arne, William Boyce, Edward Purcell and George Frideric Handel and today some of the greatest names in music appear among our membership. Being a charity run by musicians for musicians, we are uniquely placed to fully understand the challenges faced within the profession.

That’s why our staff and Governors have created a Strategic Plan to identify how we can best help the UK music sector.
